Why help the Malatya province
Having family and contacts who experienced the disaster, we have primary information of what the earthquake was like. Choosing the villages of Malatya we also want to take into consideration the city's harsh winter weathers, where the children cannot keep warm during school due to the lack of electricity.
Malatya province Situation:
1000 students passed away,
46 / 62 schools destroyed,
16 schools in heavy damage,
Electricity outages,
No school bathrooms,
Tents / containers instead of classrooms,
Dirty water,
No school supplies ( pens / paper...)
Future for Turkey
Our mission as high school students ourselves is to build the first sustainable certified school in Turkey. This means that we aim to establish a healthy learning environment for the children who have experienced trauma from the earthquake, whilst not being a burden to the environment.
This is why we strive to construct the school within the LEED certification requirements.
All money raised from donations will go to the construction of the school we want to build and will sustain the learning center inorder to support as many children in having a just education.

Malatya, Turkey
About The Team
We are six IB students at the International School of Geneva, who value the education our school offers us. Being a team with multiple nationalities including Turkish, Swiss, British and American, it is important to us that we connect and share the resources we are able to get with the children in Malatya, who also deserve to have a stable education.
This project has a big place in our hearts, especially because we have friends and family members who also experienced the earthquake. We hope to have inspired you as well, to make a change and help us build a future for Turkey.
